my responsibilities
I'm the engineer and designer of this project.
My main responsibilities were:
-
Programming
Responsibility: Brainstorm to ideation
We had less than 3 days to design and develop a complete game based on the theme given by the officials of Ludum Dare Game Jam.
The theme of this particular event was "Every 10 Seconds". I was binge watching HBO's Chernobyl at that time, so I set the mood/vibe of the game first before coming up with a fun gameplay. I aimed to create a game characterized by a melancholic atmosphere, where the demise of characters, while appearing inconsequential, serves as an essential and inevitable element of the narrative.
Responsibility: Programming
As a game programmer, I developed a grid-based spawner capable of interpreting JSON files provided by the level designer. Leveraging a specialized serializer, the system transforms the JSON data into a tangible level within the Unity game engine.
